I've always been interested in architectural design and attracted to neighborhoods with character and charm. Born and raised in Tuxedo Park, New York- America's first suburb- I learned to appreciate fine architecture. My career led me to fabulous cities with distinctive neighborhoods - Back Bay Boston, Charleston South of Broad, Ansley Park and Virginia Highlands in Atlanta, a small ranch in Ocala, the Bradenton River District and now Sarasota. A few years after selling my Atlanta-based technology marketing business to partners, I found myself reading, driving and talking real estate. Brenda Boyd May said, "You've built houses, renovated houses and bought and sold all styles of houses-get your license and join Boyd Realty!" It was a great invitation and one of the most rewarding opportunities I've had. I am so fortunate to work with home buyers and sellers of unique waterfront cottages, historic Florida bungalows, magnificent coastal family retreats, artist live/work spaces, ranches and other residences with character.
This is one of the friendliest places in Florida. Many of us move to Sarasota or Bradenton and make friends quickly by getting involved with the arts, volunteering, or embracing the many outdoor activities that take advantage of our natural environment. Currently I serve as a director of Junior Leadership Manatee; a participant in the Political Leadership Institute; a director of the Sarasota Pops Orchestra; a sustaining member of The Junior League of Sarasota and a trustee of Miss Hall's School in Massachusetts. In addition to those volunteer commitments, I enjoy kayaking, travel, downhill skiing, yoga, French cinema, the Ringling College Town Hall Lecture Series and I'm a huge fan of The Sarasota Opera and the Tampa Bay Lightening.
